Compiler warnings

What BscScan is telling you

Three compiler-level warnings appear on BscScan for the 2BB contracts. None of the affected patterns are present in the BabyFX source.

  1. 1. UnsoundSpillInMutualRecursion

    medium-severity

    Introduced

    0.7.2

    Fixed

    0.8.36

Compiler allowed incorrect variable assignment through mutually recursive functions. Does not apply: no mutually recursive functions in this codebase.

  2. 2. TransientStorageClearingHelperCollision

    high-severity

    Introduced

    0.8.28

    Fixed

    0.8.34

Compiler removed code that clears transient storage. Does not apply: contracts do not use transient storage (introduced in Solidity 0.8.28 with EIP-1153).

  3. 3. LostStorageArrayWriteOnSlotOverflow

    low-severity

    Introduced

    0.1.0

    Fixed

    0.8.32

Compiler could lose writes to storage arrays inside the constructor. Does not apply: contracts do not declare dynamic storage arrays.

Pattern audit

Manual code review of contracts/v1 through contracts/v5 confirms the contracts do not use mutually recursive functions, transient storage, or storage arrays. Therefore none of the three compiler bugs can manifest at runtime.

Build settings

All contracts pin the Solidity version to ^0.8.28 in their pragma. The bugs are addressed in later versions (0.8.32, 0.8.34, 0.8.36) which we plan to migrate to during the next contract iteration.
